3 Ways to Show Off Socks

I almost titled this post “How to Wear Socks and Shoes” but of course, you already know how to do thatπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ! I don’t just want to show you how to wear socks, I’m going to give you ideas on how to SHOW OFF your socks.

This trend has been popping up on my favorite influencers feed more and more lately and I’m all for it. Socks and sandals is the most “fashionable” iteration but its not the only one! Thrifting and style guru, B.Jones (from B.Jones Style), recently shared on her instastories tons of cute socks she bought at TARGET! I’ve been specifically looking for sparkly and patterned socks but didn’t want to spend a lot of money because, they’re socks. So naturally I ran to my nearest Target and scooped up 9 socks (they came in packs of 2 or 3).

Since this trend isn’t mainstream yet, most of the inspirational photos I found on Pinterest show girls wearing sandals with socks. This got me inspired to show you how I style this socks for my everyday life (I still threw in a socks and sandals one because I loved it combo πŸ˜‰)

Patterned Socks + Oxfords + Ankle Jeans

I love the combination of oxfords and socks because its a direct influence from men’s style. And anything worn by a male looks so much better on a female. When worn with jeans that hit at the ankle, the pattern of the sock just peeks through. The main reason I wear socks with a cute pattern is because I want to get my ankles warm! And these socks in particular just so happen to perfectly match my favorite pink oxfords. Win-win!

Sparkly Socks + Ankle Boots + Cropped Jeans

If pattern isn’t your style, then subtle sparkly socks may be more your vibe! They equally keep your ankles warm but also add interest to an outfit. Since it’s not as bold as a patterned sock, I like to show them off a bit more by wearing cropped jeans. Then, since cropped jeans tend to make me look shorter, I’ll wear an ankle boot with a heel. Both socks I’m wearing here come in the same set and are now on sale for $3! They also come in 4 different colors (I also picked up the blue/black set 😁)

Bright Socks + Sandals + Midi Skirt

OK, here’s my wild card! I know a lot of people are not into socks and sandals and that’s OK! But sometimes style comes from wearing something that’s considered “taboo” (reference: dad sneakers). I bought these socks a really long time ago from Madewell (part of a set with 3 neon socks) but stashed them away because I hadn’t felt confident wearing something this bright. But these days I’ve been vowing to wear whatever makes me happy and these socks make me happy! I especially love how neon pink looks with dark burgundy (so cool right???). I keep the rest of my outfit neutral since you can see these socks from spaceπŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ.
