Hello and Happy New Year!
If you’re anything like me, then you tend to find yourself in a bit of a fashion funk in January & February. During the beginning of a Winter season, I get so excited to wrap myself in big cozy sweaters . But then the excitement starts to fade a bit after I’ve worn a lot big, cozy sweaters. So to avoid overthinking my outfits and taking too much time getting ready, I have a few fall-back outfit combinations that I can always count on to make me look stylish.
Today, I’m sharing 3 of my favorites for the Winter. I wanted to make sure these outfit recipes can be worn by anyone and truly is a “fool-proof” combination. This post is also not about telling you to go out and buy new things. You can absolutely do that if you really fall in a love with a combination but I can bet all of these items are in your closet. That’s why in the outfits below, I kept one piece of clothing constant so you can see how different it can look by changing out 1 or 2 pieces!
I, for one, will be not be trying my best not buy anything new this January that I don’t absolutely need (including beauty, skin care, home decor, etc). I have so many clothes sitting in my closet I have yet to wear or only worn once so I want to enjoy those before accumulating any more.
Ok so in summary, these 3 combinations are simple, fast and can be tailored to your style! Hope you enjoy!
Turtleneck + Mini Skirt + OTK Boots
I love this combination because you can wear it to the office, a night out or a casual Saturday stroll; just by switching out the skirt and boots! Tights are optional here depending on your climate (100% necessary for me). I enjoy wearing colored tights when I want a punch but black is a no-brainer.
I emphasize mini skirt in this combination because it’s much more “fool-proof” then a midi or long skirt. Depending on your height and the length of the skirt, there may be times when the proportions are just not right. But that is not the case with a mini skirt! Any combination of a turtleneck, skirt & boots will look great. The mini skirt is also the piece of clothing you can change out to make the most impact.

Sweater + Skinny Jeans + Knee High Boots
Ahhh, the sweater and jeans combination. Since it is Winter, I can’t exclude sweaters outfits or else I’d be freezing everyday! What I like to do with this combination is to have fun with the color or pattern of the sweater and mix up the accessories. In these looks, I wore a hat, a belt and a necktie to add some interest.
I kept the skinny jean consistent with these look because 1) I only own 2 pairs of skinny jeans and 2) no one will know its the same pair 😜.

Feminine Blouse + High-Waist Jeans + Ankle Boots
One of my favorite items to thrift is a feminine blouse because when I want to wear jeans and look like I tried, I grab a blouse. Wearing them with high-waist jeans (is there any other kind!) just makes them look that much cooler.
