This is my go-to nude for the Fall. It’s a mauve-pink and darker than my usual peach-pink Spring nudes. It just suits the mood of Fall/Winter so perfectly. This formula is also a matte, which I like for cooler months too. But, as with most matte formulas, it can be a bit drying. However, it does have great lasting power which is great if you don’t like fuss with you lipstick.
Runner-up: Sephora Lip Stories in "Spring Break"
I had been on the search for a lipstick version of "Pumpkin Spice" and I found it in "Mama". I love coral/orange lipsticks and this shade is perfect for Fall/Winter. I love wearing it when I have Autumnal colors on, like forest green or ginger brown. It’s a matte formula and the driest of them all. But you can easily add a balm on top if you’re not into a dry formula.
Runner-up: Nars Audacious Lipstick in "Lana"
Nars Audicious Lipstick in "Janet"As you can tell by the nub, this is a well used lipstick. I’m still a fan of bright lipstick for Fall and this shade is a great transitional cool-toned berry-pink. Also, the formula of the Nars Audicious lipsticks are incredible. They are expensive but absolutely worth the price. It’s incredibly pigmented, so creamy and moisturizing, and not drying. Also, for a non-liquid matte lipstick, it has really great staying power.
Runner-up: Colourpop Creme Lux Lipstick in "What If"
Ahhhh the berry lip. The quintessential color of Winter. I have many berry lip colors in my lipstick collection but this one is my most recent and current go-to. The color leans more towards brown than purple, describes on the site as a "deep cranberry" – the quintessential berry of the Winter. If you haven’t tried any of colourpop Lippie Stix’s, the formula is quite unique. It’s a full-coverage, matte finish but feels like a lipstick and not at all drying. It doesn’t have "all day" stay but it will survive on your lips until you eat. It’s also loaded with skin-loving ingredients like shea butter and Vitamin E.
Runner-up: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in "Copenhagen"
I can’t tell you about my favorite Fall lipsticks without sharing my all-time favorite Red. And it’s this Mac Lipstick in "Steam Heat". Unfortunately it was a limited edition color but their "Mac Red" color is a great dup because it’s still a true blue-red shade. Even though this one is not available, I wanted to include it because what I love most about it is the formula. This is their "Satin" formula. It’s so comfortable on the lips, really easy to apply and lasts surprisingly really well. Even through eating, it fades very evenly so you don’t have worry about that awful lip liner look (which I end up with ALL the time).
Runner-up: NYX Powder Puff Lipstick in "Group Love"
If there are any other lipsticks you want me to share or review, let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
