Hello and welcome to the first post in a new series I’m calling “Outfit Math”! While I enjoy posting and discussing my outfits and the inspiration behind them on this blog, I know a lot of you just don’t have the time to find all the pieces to recreate the look. And I totally get that! So I’m making it my mission to do as much as of the hard work as I can for you! Of course, thrifted and vintage items are one of a kind, so you won’t be able to recreate the “exact” look but I’m giving you something better – an easy outfit formula! These “formula” became an outfit inspiration and can be tailored to YOUR style, instead of forcing you to “copy” the look. My goal is to spark creativity and provide outfit inspiration so you’ll never be bored of your wardrobe!
Today, I present you the summer version of one my go-to outfits. As we’ve seen all over the mags and IG, denim skirts are not going anywhere. They’ve also gone through many iterations over the decades so you can easily find one to your liking. I personally prefer a skirt that hits a few inches above the knee so I DIYED this one to the perfect length. It’s so easy to do and gives you that cool raw edge as well!
What really catapults this outfit to the next level is a feminine ruffle blouse. You will not regret picking up a ruffle blouse because they can be dressed up with a silk slip skirt or made work appropriate with a pair of tailored black trousers. But my favorite way to wear them is dressed down with a denim skirt. The outfit combination is so versatile especially if you work at a casual office. It can worn to a summer bday party, weekend BBQ or casual window shopping. You can buy the blouse I’m wearing from my shop, Redkey Threads or pick up one of the amazing blouses I found on Etsy below!
It may just be the ONLY outfit you need.
