Thrifting a Wardrobe Staple // Navy Blazer

I won’t lie to you, thrifting takes persistence. One day you may find incredible pieces and the next, total duds. And if you’re looking for something very specific, prepare for disappointment. But when you DO find exactly what you’re looking for, all of the feel good endorphins kick in and you’re on cloud nine! Well that’s exactly what happened to me when I finally found my perfect navy blazer.

Many people will tell you a great fitting navy blazer is an investment because it will last forever and remain a staple in your wardrobe. And those people are correct. But spending that much money for an expertly tailored Theory jacket just wasn’t in the cards for me. In came the thrifting Gods (praying to them may increase your chances at success😉). On a random day of the week, I popped into my local thrift store and pulled out this Charter Club petite blazer – for $8! Now I’m aware Charter Club isn’t the most luxury of brands (although I have thrifted an Escada blazer) but it’s still a well-made brand and certainly of higher quality than a new, higher priced Forever 21 blazer.

When determining the value of the garment, I also look for unique details. On this blazer, the gold sailor buttons and sharp lapel sold me. The sharp but not overly exaggerated shoulders give it that extra boss lady vibe that will forever be in style.

I altered these jeans to step hem so I can show off fun shoes like these!
