What I Wore This Week

Hi! Thank you for visiting my blog and reading my very first post! “What I Wore This Week” will be a a weekly series that shows you what I wore throughout the week (very revolutionary, I know). Since I have a 9-5 job, I don’t have a whole lot of time to shoot fabulous images of individual outfits, I still wanted to give you guys the most content I possibly can. I’m posting a week’s worth of outfits on Sunday to give you inspiration for your week. If there are any outfits you’d like to see more detail on or pieces you want more styling options for, shoot me over a message or leave a comment down below!

This first week was an exciting one because it was my first week at my new job in a new town. If you haven’t been to my About Me page then you don’t know but my bf and I just moved from New York City to Pittsburgh for an exciting career opportunity and a change of scenery! Right now, we’re living in temporary housing while we search for a place to live and this damn apartment doesn’t have a full length mirror! Poor design right? Needless to say, I didn’t know what the bottom half of my outfit really looked like but I think it all turned out okay. Ok, that’s enough of my rambling, hope you enjoy the outfits (and get a laugh or two at my very poor modeling skills – bear with me guys while i figure this whole blogging this out.)

I call this look “business lady takes a day off”. I’ve been loving the plaid blazer trend (haven’t we all) and I found this one at Goodwill. Yes, you saw that right – Goodwill. And I paid $6 for it. So if you want an authentic 80’s working girl blazer, run to your local store now. It’s amazing what you’ll find!

I put this outfit together for the sole purpose of wearing these oxfords. The kick-flare jean is the perfect style to show off shoes and the turtleneck mimics the classic aesthetic of the shoes. I recently bought these beauties from Everlane because 1. oxford and 2. nude. That combination is a no-brainer for me. I’ll be honest, they need a little bit of breaking in but once that happens I know I’ll be wearing them all.the.time.

I bought this white blouse from Zara about 3 months ago. I’m sorry to say it’s not available anymore but I really wanted to wear it this week. The office is pretty casual (jeans all day eer day) so I like to use silk(ish) blouses to fancy it up a bit. I was drawn to this one because I love the western/star combo – it’s a 2 for 1 deal in the trend department.

Rainbow retro stripes are all the rage right now and I freakin’ love them. So much so that I bought this sweater 2 years ago and the moths have gotten to it a tiny bit and I don’t care! I also love a good multi-colored stripe because it can jazz up a basic pair of black jeans (as you see here) and if you’re bolder, you can wear it with any of the colors in the sweater.

I was off Friday (woot, woow) so we decided to do a little thrift store shopping in Pittsburgh, so my outfit was #comfycasual. I live in these American Eagle Mom Jeans on the weekend. It’s a bit disgusting really but I can’t resist. They are ridiculously comfortable – the denim is really soft and there is no digging in, in the waist area. I have 2 pairs of them and I rotate between them all weekend long. FYI: I’m 5’4″ and these are the Regular length.
